A name or birth date entered in a partner search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that search. The provider processes the input and supplies the results. We do not keep or log those search terms ourselves.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email you send us so our team can respond. Correspondence remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading one of our pages provides our servers with technical information about the visit, including:

Our content describes access to Shelby County records through the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Circuit, Superior, and Magistrate Courts, and the Sheriff. Access to government records is subject to the Indiana Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code 5-14-3, and applicable court-record access rules. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
The companies supplying search tools apply their own privacy policies to the information you submit. Their retention and sharing decisions are outside our control and are not governed by this policy. Read the provider's terms for personal data before entering a query.

Links to Indiana court portals, county offices, legal aid resources, and commercial search providers lead to separate websites. Their privacy policies apply after you leave our pages. Review the destination's policy before supplying personal information.
Some advertising providers may follow activity across websites to tailor advertisements. Those tracking systems are operated by the providers.

Personal information is not sold by us. Data may be received by these parties:

Standard security measures help protect the information we collect. No internet-connected service can guarantee complete protection. Although we work to safeguard data, we cannot assure visitors that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
Our intended audience is adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children or anyone else under 18. Notify us if you believe a minor supplied information; we will promptly delete it.
